| Shore Dives |
| West of Mo-Bay, the following dive sites are accessible
from the jetty at Chalet Caribe. Currents are usually light, although
winter storms can make entry complicated, if not impossible. Please
consult dive shop for rules before diving in the Marine Park. Tunnel
and cave dives are for experienced cave divers only. |
| The Arena |
| A shallow reef shaped like an outdoor
theatre with coral walls, sloping up to 70ft. Two tunnels lead to
more caverns with lots of large barreled sponges and black coral.
Eagle rays and turtles are frequently seen. Near the reef top sits
an ancient anchor. |
| Canyon 1 |
| A tunnel/cave dive past the fish feeding
station with an entrance to the cave on the reefs edge at
30 ft down, with the exit depth at approximately 70ft. Look for
the extremely rare orange sponges that grow inside the tunnel. |
| Canyon 2 |
| Located next to Canyon 1, divers can
expect to see rock and spiny lobsters, schools of snappers and if
youre lucky, a nurse shark. |
| Hammie's Fish Feeding Station |
| Part of the Montego Bay Marine Park, was
created in 1981 by dive shop owners, Theo and Hammie Smit who started
a private marine sanctuary. Please ask dive guides for appropriate
fish food. Depth is 25 ft. |
