Runaway Bay is a 1 hour drive from the
Donald Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay. This area
is known for its pristine waters, 18-hole golf course, elegant villas
and fantastic dive sites.
On the north coast of Jamaica, a variety of diverse coral reef can
be found. Runaway Bay temperature is approximately 80F during winter
months and a comfortable 84F in the summer months. Currents are
usually light and visibility averages 100 plus feet. |

On the edge of the Cayman Trench, fabulous
walls start at approximately 20m/60ft and plunge to over
50m/150ft. The walls are carpeted with a rainbow of soft
and hard coral, tube sponges, and you can also find gorgonia
and black coral. This area is inhabited by spotted and green
moray eels, lobster, crab and varieties of fish. Continue
a few miles out and the bottom plummets to a deep 24,714ft
(about 5 miles). It is known to be one of the deepest points
in the world’s oceans.
